Trip to Hague

On 19th April I set off to Belguim. From their airport we went to Hague. In the time I arrived in Hague I realized that this is the most beautiful and nice city which I had ever been to. It is just amazing. The purpose of my trip was to see the University in which I am applying. When I saw it I was very excited and amazed. The building is huge and beautiful. I am eager to go there again. Together with the visitation of the university I also went to some interesting museums. My favourite one was the Keukenhof gardens. This is a park, a huge park full of flowers and animals.

This trip was really helpful for me because now I know that I want to live and study there. Together with the things which I had to do there I also had a lot of fun. I went to a kid's theme park and stayed there almost all day.

Billiards competition

On 23rd March some of my friends and I made a little billiards competition. As I already said it turned out that I'm not that good at this game. However we had a wonderfull time, relaxing and having fun after the hard and excausting lessons in school. I really enjoy those moments because those are the last months is which I can be here with my friends spending such a good time together :) Although I'm am a little bit sad because we have to separate in  a few more months :(

Creativity

On 17th of April one of my classmates and I decided to be creative. One of the teachers in our school needed something made by things, which you can collect in the woods. So we decided to make a person of cons. When we looked the cons we immediately imagined how our person will look like, but then it came the difficult part of how we will make him to not fall apart. We decided to use strokes and pins to keep the cons together. It may look easy thing to do but believe me it was hard. However we had a lot of fun.

Open Day in our school

On 22th March we had an open day in our school.  In each room there was different and interesting things to see .For example in the biology and chemistry room students made a lot of experiments which were breathtaking. In the English rooms you could go and play some kind of games in English or make exercises. But the most interesting room was that in which my classmates from the IB program and I were. We made postcards, using really interesting technology. We cut a potato and then using a knife made some kind of form on it (I made a butterfly) and then we colored it with paint. And in the end it turned out to be like a stamp. We made some really beautiful postcards and the most important is that I had a lot of fun while doing this. It was really difficult to scrape the potato, but the results were amazing. I am sure that the visitors of our school liked this a lot.

Concert

On 14th of March my classmates and I went to a concert. The concert was made by presenters of every school in our town and the nearest villages. Each school has to make something in the period of 15 minutes. I was amazed that there were a lot of people in the hall, but maybe the bigger part were the parents of the kids, who were participating in the concert. I really liked this concert, because there weren’t only teenagers performing, but also kids from the kindergartens (they were so cute). There were a lot of very talented kids, who were singing, dancing or making sketches. From my school there was a girl who singed very well, and of course our most talented dancer was performing too. I really enjoyed this concert because I actually was able to relax for a while from the huge amounts of homework which we had to do.

Ladies room

Today we went to a theatre play, called “Ladies Room”. It was about 4 friends talking about their desires, worries and about life right before New Year’s Day.  One of the actors, who was playing a gay opera singer was one of the most famous Bulgarian singers – Doni. I was really amazed that he can play that good. The play was full of laugh , but it turned out that the end would be dramatic. I usually never cry on theatre plays, but this one touched me very strongly and I cried a lot. I really enjoyed this play and I’m looking forward for the next one, which will be on 15th May.

1st of March - Baba Marta

1ST Of March is a traditional Bulgarian holiday, which is called Baba Marta. On this day people give martenitsi to their friends, siblings and parents or to whom they want. Martenitsa is usually in the form of wrist, combining red and white colored treads. It must be worn until you see a stork or a bloomed tree.

To celebrate this holiday my classmates and I welcomed every person to your school with a martenitsa. It was good to see that everyone smile when you put the wrist on his hand, especially the teachers.  We wished to everybody good luck, health and good life. This event made me to feel happy through the whole day. I received a lot of martenitsi from my friends and now I don’t have any free space on my both hands : ) The martenitsa is symbolizing health and long life. So I wish to everyone of you to be health and to have a really good life. =) The pictures bellow shows the traditional Bulgarian martenitscas

After our classes we went had to cut big red hearts and to sing them with the name of our school and logo “We Love Veliko Tarnovo, you have to love it too”. After that we went to the municipality to give them our presents. One of my classmates and I went on the second and the third floor and gave postcard or bracelet to every person on the floor.

Preparation for St. Valentine

After the celebration of the Smile Day we continued with the preparation of St. Valentine’s Day. We made some postcards, which turned to be very beautiful. We also hand made some bracelets.  I really enjoyed this day because I’m really excited about Saint Valentine’s Day and I’m sure that we will make a lot of people happy.

WORLD SMILE DAY

On 24th we had to prepare the stickers for the World Smile Day. On 25th January we gave the smiley faces to all of the students from our school. This was of course together with our smiles and hugs. I really like this holiday because it is reminding us that we have to smile more often.

Christmas Bazar and "Christmas box"

On 15th December we made a Christmas bazar in our school. This year we sold handmade candlesticks. The prizes were symbolic so everyone could afforded it and in this way we get a lot of money for the foster’s home. After that we had a Christmas event in the auditorium. Each class had to prepare something – a song, sketch or a dance. It was really funny and there were some really good performances.  The whole time I was feeling really good, this event remembered me that Christmas is coming !!! J

5th December The International Volunteer Day

The International Volunteer Day was on 5th December. We celebrated it in the auditorium of our school. There were certificates given to those who are participating in European Voluntary Corps – Veliko Tarnovo.  I felt really proud when I saw my certificate and especially when I read: “The volunteer has contributed to the organization and participated in voluntary services in the local community”.

International AIDs Day

On 1st December my classmates and I sold our newspaper J This as you all know is the International AIDs day and our newspapers were about this. We sold them for 50stotinki and we sold not that many. I was really disappointed because the students weren’t interested about this…  There was also and a competition which was about the virus. There were two teams and questions asked .
